Esmeralda Rancapino

**”The Awakening of My Voice”** is the show in which Esmeralda Rancapino will showcase her flamenco heritage and passion for singing through various traditional *palos* such as *seguiriyas*, *soleás*, *tientos*, *alegrías*, *bulerías*, *tangos*, and more. This performance will premiere during Suma Flamenca 2019. Esmeralda Torres Núñez was born on September 28, 2006, in El Puerto de Santa María (Cádiz). She comes from a family of artists and musicians, being the daughter of musician and flamenco singer Ana de Rancapino and Ramón Torres. Esmeralda began humming *bulerías* at the age of two. At just four years old, she was invited to appear on the television program *Menuda Noche*, accompanied by her parents, her grandfather Rancapino, and her uncle Rancapino Chico. On the show, grandfather and granddaughter shared a moving performance of *Tanguillos* composed by Paco Cepero, “Lele,” creating an emotional evening for the audience. In a very special moment, Rancapino presented his granddaughter Esmeralda at the Teatro Flamenco Madrid, where she performed a snippet of *bulerías* and left the audience deeply moved. The crowd could hardly believe the profound emotion conveyed by a 12-year-old in her singing.
