Manuel de la Tomasa

Manuel Georgio Fernández, also known as Manuel de la Tomasa, was born on July 23, 1999, into a Gypsy family with a flamenco tradition that spans nearly two centuries. A glance at his closest relatives reveals the legacy running through his veins. He is the great-great-grandson of Manuel Torre and Manuel Vallejo, the great-grandson of Tomasa Soto and “Pies Plomo,” and the grandson of José de la Tomasa. From a very young age, Manuel was certain that his future would be tied to the arts. He began by playing the guitar, hiding a treasure in his voice—a deep, soulful sound inherited through his lineage. Manuel is a flamenco singer with a uniquely personal vocal quality, a calm and measured style of singing that is rare in someone so young. His extensive knowledge comes from years spent close to his grandfather José, and he carries the humility characteristic of the greats. He is destined to be one of the artists shaping the immediate future of flamenco. Fans are captivated by him, and he embraces the weight of that responsibility with grace.
